If you're struggling with your short game, a golf chipper can actually be a good addition to your golf bag.
You might pick up a bit of slack from your golf mates or those in the clubhouse, but if it helps your scores, who cares right?
But when to comes to using a chipper in golf, is it legal to add a putter grip to it?
Well, the simple answer is no, you can't add a putter grip to your chipper because it's treated the same as an iron or a wood.
According to golf's governing bodies, the USGA and the R&A, chippers are iron clubs and not putters. Therefore they must be treated like an iron and must only be circular in cross section.
Pretty much all putter grips, including the Sky Vibe putter Grip, have a flat part which means they can only be legally used for a putter.
Of course, there are some cases where a putter grip can be used on a chipper, but this is only provided that it is circular in shape.
