Inside Wyndham Clark's Putter Change for 2024

Wyndham Clark picked up his first major championship at Los Angeles Country Club in the 2023 US Open.

But one of the key talking points from his one-shot victory over Rory McIlroy was the putter Clark was using.

Despite having putted so well in 2023, Wyndham Clark decided to change his putter for 2024 from the Odyssey Jailbird mallet putter to a brand new Odyssey Ai-One Jailbird Cruiser.

Clark initially made the switch to the Jailbird model at the start of 2023, having copied Rickie Fowler's putter.

This led to almost instant success winning the 2023 US Open, but since then his putting form had been on the decline, so switching to the new model for the 2024 season made good sense.

Both models are very similar in style, but the Crusier features the AI design and a shaft that is 35.75 inches in length compared to his previous 39-inch putter in 2023.

The change in putter comes with a change in putting technique to a cross handed grip style rather than his more traditional style previously.

This putting method allows for his shoulders to become level at setup and can be beneficial for taking the hands out of the stroke.

The change for the new season has already proved a good choice, with a win at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am and back to back runner up finishes at The Players Championship and the Arnold Palmer Invitational.

Clark also uses a thick putter grip on his Odyssey putter, which you too can add to your lineup from our range of putter grips.
